Description
The w114/ 115 Series deserves a spot in the most iconic Mercedes of all time not only for its innovative engineered design but also for its immense popularity with nearly 2 million units produced. Paul Bracq’s inspiration is best represented in the elegance of the pilarless coupe which spanned from 1969 to 1976 with 67048 units produced of which 11668 were fitted with the carbureted 2. 8lt M130 engine.
The one featured here was produced in 1973 in Byzantine Gold Metallic and dispatched to Greece to its first owner. Four decades later it was sold to a private collector who decided to conduct a bare metal respray in the original color, a re-trim in leather and a full mechanical service that included a cylinder head overhaul. Once completed it was certified for its originality by FIVA of Greece.
