1979 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk1 Sportshatch 2. 0 litre GLS £4950. 00
It is in excellent all round condition, has a full Mot (August 2020) with no advisories, and as it was first registered October 1979 need never be tested again, and will be eligible for road tax exemption once it is 40 years old. I am selling it to reduce my collection and make space for a winter project.
I bought this car late last year with 11 months test on it from the family of its only owner who had sadly passed away, so I am only the second registered keeper. The family recall that the original owner had some restoration work carried out around 2002 after which the car was used until 2004 then parked up in dry storage, the owner buying a new Astra.
Some history exists although it is not complete.
After his death the family sold the Astra, and the Cavalier was taken from storage and given to a car restoration company to get it running again, and for a MOT. All it needed was a battery, fresh petrol and a little welding (which looks to be to an excellent standard).
When I had the car brought home however the engine was slightly noisy, the water pump leaked, the clutch juddered, and it had a large oil leak, all possibly a consequence of the extended lay-up. This work and much more has been repaired by a retired engineer, and I have an extensive list of everything used to make this car what it is now, (over £900 worth!), far too many parts to list in this advert so please ring me for details. There is no rust on the body or under the bonnet and it drives very well.
I have a pit in my garage for underbody examination.
Please ring for any further information
