After 11 years of ownership, it is time for someone else to have some fun times in Dolly the tea bus. She is an Autohomes Komet conversion which is renowned to be one of the best on the T25.
Interior
It can sleep up to 4 with 2 small children in the high top space using the ladder for access. Though realistically this is better for storage.
The rear seat also has seat belts for passengers. The interior is still looking very nice and the seats were recovered by the previous owner.
The van comes with a gas hob & grill and fridge that runs on 12v and 240v hook up. There is also a 45 litre onboard water tank which we don't use and also a propex heater and thermostat which has worked but recommend it checked by a gas safe engineer for a caravan certificate. Lots of storage space, with cupboards above the front cab for crockery glasses and other items. The front passenger seat swivels and you also have the option of two tables. This is a proper coach-built conversion so you have mains hook-up with ELCB protection, electrical sockets and a 12v leisure battery for wild camping. The sides and roof panels are insulated so you stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and the handmade curtains are lined. Originals come too with her as I replaced them with some a little more colourful.
Exterior
The bodywork was resprayed over 10 years ago. The underneath chassis spotless of rust and I have a video to confirm this. alI later model T25's they came from the factory with much better rust protection. Overtime there is surface rust on the one seam and the awning track with the rest of the bodywork in good condition. The decals are Komet originals and a little faded but can be replaced. It has an opening roof light and a ladder on the rear and a tow bar has been fitted with electrics.
Mechanics
Over the last 11 years, I have kept up with regular maintenance doing oil and filter changes and replacing the coolant & antifreeze. The van runs well. Starts every time and drives straight with no squeaks or rattles. I always drive it very gently before it is up to temperature.
Overall a great van which has given us many memorable adventures and holidays, and the added bonus of being part of the wv scene.
