Built 15th December 1969 this Jaguar E Type Series 2 is a 4. 2 litre manual Fixed Head Coupe (two-seater, not 2+2). Signal Red with Beige interior trim. The car is matching numbers with its original engine and all outer body panels appear to be originals, with the correct body tags in place.
Recently featured in the November 2019 Classic and Sportscar magazine where it was the feature car to buy of a Jaguar E-Type special article. In this article the car was commended as a good ‘driver quality federal spec car at the price of a 2+2’, commenting that the car drivers exceptionally nicely with a ‘comfortable, clonk free ride’.
Since importation in 2015 the car has had extensive work by Pitt Lane Winchester and Rawles Motorsport Alton, this work includes major brake overhaul including new front callipers, new brake master cylinder, new cooling fans, new tyres a few years ago and new wheels at the same time, a new stainless exhaust, full carburettors rebuild plus a major general service including fluids and electrical consumables such as a new coil and distributor refurb.
The car runs and drives exceptionally smoothly with very good power, exceptional torque and very nice road holding. The gearbox is precise and makes no crunches between gears. The differential is fully functional.
The paint on this E-Type is of a good finish having just been detailed and giving off a nice deep shine but does have some small imperfections across the car.
Inside, the carpets, door cards and vinyl appear to be in very good condition perhaps having been recently replaced although there is not paperwork for this. The seats are original leather and have been repainted at some stage. The dash is largely in good condition with all dials original types in good condition and appearance. The steering wheel is the original and good.
Underneath the car appears to be very solid, with the Car and Classic article identifying a few welded patches and minor surface rust underneath.
This E-type is offered for sale UK registered with past MOTs, Original operating, maintenance and service handbook and wallet, Routine maintenance diagram, dealer/ distributor book plus large service manual. The car also has quite exceptionally a rare and valuable original toolkit.
This E-Type was taken as part exchange and is auctioned to clear. Can be shipped at buyers cost if required. Sold as seen with no warranty.
