The RHD versions of the Lancia Gamma Coupe 2. 5 Ei Series II cars were imported to Johannesburg, by TAK MOTORS during the period 1981 to 1985. At the time, the now defunct TAK were the Ferrari, Maserati and Lancia Dealer in what was the Transvaal back then. This car is probably one of the last manufactured by Lancia in Italy, as she was a NEW CAR registered in 1985. To the best of my knowledge, this car has been with one-owner from new.
The odometer reflects a total usage of 101, 191 KLMS - about 62, 881 miles travelled.
The car runs and drives perfectly well and reportedly without any issues needing attention at this time. However, the car undergoes a major service by AUTO AZZURRI - the Italian Car Specialist workshop in Cape Town - before shipping. When she arrives in the UK, I will undertake to get a fresh MoT Certificate in the new owners name without any advisories – seeing as she has been through the meticulous services and inspection already.
There are a two small areas of paint imperfection, which will also be attended to prior to shipping.
Otherwise, the car is solid and rust free. These Gamma Coupes were very expensive cars in South Africa due to the disproportionately high import duties, so her pre-delivery would have included a ZIEBART Anti-Rust treatment to the entire body cavities and underbody, which is probably why she has fared so well.
There are very small areas of wear to the front seats - the driver’s side looks like seat-belt chaffing. I will have this attended to before shipping with "invisible" mending by the best Auto Trimmers in Cape Town.
The front left-side headlamp has a small stone-chip hole to the outer-glass, I will get this repaired by a windscreen-fitter service. That aside the owner had the foresight to purchase brand new headlamp set and rear taillamp set when the car was still new, these come with the car.
The car will also undergo a comprehensive VALET of Body, Interior, Engine and Underbody before going in to her sea container.
The PURCHASE PRICE of (GBP) £12, 300 also includes delivery to port, export inspection & certificates and 2-car 40” container shipment ex Cape Town to London Gateway, LLOYDS In Transit Insurance and all UK Clearing, Collection and HMRC Import Tax . The car also gets a new MoT and DVLA registered in your name complete with Road Tax and period correct Number Plates.
You only need to insure the car before driving away in total peace of mind from the warehouse facility near Cambridge – or for a small extra charge delivered by carrier to your home address. All confirmed in the BILL OF SALE Contract. References are available on request.
I am personally unsure how many of the total 1, 209 of these particular models were manufactured in RHD derivative - surely not many.
