The car was first registered on the 26 June 1954
There are 4 refurbished wheels and new tubes and tyres on the car together with a refurbished wheel, new tube and good tyre for a spare. There is also a refurbished rim for a second spare if required.
The chassis is solid and the bodywork reasonable for a car that is 66 years of age and she came with fibre glass rear wings which are quite sturdy.
The interior has had replacement panels made, seats refurbished and although not perfect is of a useable condition. A new headlining supplied by "Pop Brown" has been fitted.
All glass has had new seals. The car has been previously converted to a 12V negative earth system and an 8 way fuse box fitted. Fuse protection included for the new 20A dash power socket for phone charging, tyre compressor etc.
The canvas roof has been replaced with a GRP roof and the vacuum wiper motor replaced with an electric one. The basic instrumentation has been supplemented with an oil pressure and water temperature gauges and ignition and main beam warning lights.
These upgrades are essential for todays driving (eg stop/ start traffic which was not as prevalent back in the 50s/ 60s as it is today) but all original 6V equipment that came with the car, and vacuum wiper motor will be supplied in case the new owner wishes to revert to original spec.
There is a comprehensive renovation log of all works carried out over the last few years in a pdf format and can be emailed to prospective buyers. Mileage is showing 31385 miles but there is no evidence to verify this apart from two old MOTs from the 90s. The engine runs on lead replacement additives for the fuel available from places such as ebay
A few spares, manifolds. carbs etc will be included and a rear drum puller and a valve guide removal tool will be included together with a Ford Owners Instruction Book........ they are quite rare so I bought them when they appeared on ebay. The car has a starting handle but no jack or toolkit.
A SU electric "pull" type pump has been fitted to give instant fuel to the carb when ignition is switched on. Mechanical fuel pumps will come with the car in case the new owner wishes to revert to original spec.
Standard practice to insert a "dropping" resistor or voltage regulator to drop 12V to 6V on classic car gauges that require 6V. Fuel gauge accuracy needs to be determined.
This has been an enjoyable retirement project but it is time to take this lovely car to the next level with perhaps a respray etc but I don't have the facilities and is beyond my skill set.
