Is my beautiful Porsche Type 718 RSK Spider. ( Recreation).
If you are not aware of the place of the 718 RSK in Porsche history, a small number, 35 in total were built for competition use in . In 1958 they achieved top three placings at Buenos Aires and Sebring and in the Targa Florio plus a fourth and fifth at Le Mans, giving Porsche an end of season second to Ferrari in the Manufactures World Championship.
RSK spiders rarely come onto the market. The most recent sale I could find was Goodings Auctions in the U. S. in 2018 where they sold car number 19 from the Jerry Seinfeld collection for just short of $3 million US. It is on you tube. The guide price was $3, 800, 000 to $4, 200, 000. so it fell short of the guide price, but it was still a very respectable figure.
Back to my car; The bodywork is finished in aluminium silver and the interior is in red with full race harnesses , fire extinguisher , ignition master cut off switch and fuel pump cut off switch, period wood rim steering wheel and period gear knob etc and it has the low wrap around plexiglass screens. Carpets are fitted for a degree of comfort over an out and out competition car. The car has a rear mounted flat four 1500 engine with twin Weber Carburettors and a centre single exit exhaust. It looks and sounds superb.
On the road it embodies all the characteristics of the period with a true feeling of nostalgia when you are behind the wheel.
First registered in 1969 it is now both tax and MOT exempt and is in outstanding condition having been the subject of a total rebuild over the last two years. The most recent work has been to upgrade the old dynamo to a modern alternator.
Offered at a fraction of the price of the genuine article this car represents exceptional value in today’s market. It draws attention where ever it is seen.
If you would like to talk about the car or come and have a look at it please call me on the details below. The car is currently insured with an agreed valuation of £40, 000 for a modest £130. 00 per annum. I recently saw a similar car advertised in a showroom in Switzerland for 70, 000 Euros.
This is a truly stunning recreation of the legendary RSK Spider. The first person to see it will buy it.
The 6th picture shows my son standing next to one of the few original RSK 718’s remaining at the Goodwood Revival last year. The picture illustrates how accurate a recreation of the original my car is.
I am moving abroad later in the year hence the need to sell this lovely car. It is therefore priced to sell quickly.
