Description

Until 1942, the Mercedes 170 V was the most successful pre-war model. So it made sense for Mercedes to restart production in 1946 with its smallest model. A year later, they were back in serial production. Daimler-Benz would have liked to also build larger vehicles but it took until May of 1949 for the 170 S to come on the market. The stylized concept ressembled the pre-war Mercedes 230, but its engine remained a 4-cylinder. There were also special order convertibles, the crowning jewel being the Cabriolet A. The convertibles were mostly assembled by hand with great effort and precision. Even at that time, this was considered pure luxury and so the Limousine cost DM 10, 000 and at a price point of DM 15, 800 the Cabriolet A was also a dream car. Only 2, 433 Cabriolets A and B were built.

Our Mercedes-Benz 170 S Cabriolet A from 1950 was completely restored and is registered in Germany. Its looks are simply stunning with its blue coat and cream colored leather interior. This convertible is a perfect travel companion for tours with a classic car!
