Beschreibung
A Very rare 4-door Monteverdi conversion Range Rover Classic. 1982. 3. 5 V8 manual gearbox.
Monteverdi was a luxury 4-door conversion engineered by Monteverdi from Basel and manufactured by Carrozzeria Fissore in Cuneo, Italy, starting from 2-door Range Rovers supplied by Land Rover Company.
About 300 cars were built from 1979 to 1982, (and sold from official dealers at a price almost double compared to the 2-dr version) with special features including custom leather interiors, custom dash binnacle and cubby box, custom interior door linings, special sized Saint Gobain tinted glasses, special Monteverdi badges, air conditioned, PAS,…and more.
ALL THESE ORIGINAL PARTS ARE STILL PRESENT ON THIS CAR.
This car is a restoration project.
The engine starts and runs, gearbox works, no noise coming from it or from differentials. PAS works as well.
Chassis is strangely solid, rust on surface, no rust holes or patches on it.
The car shows corrosion exactly as other coeval Range Rovers, floor panels and sills, rear inner wheelarches, need to be replaced. Upon request, for free, I can provide a right and a left sideshells that can be used as “donors” for parts.
Body panels have knocks, dents, scratches, as usual for a restoration project. The engine hood has been replaced with a solid used one.
Interiors are in superb condition except for the drivers seat base and roof panel that need to be retrimmed. Leather is still soft without any cracks or scratches.
Today a Monteverdi is a milestone for any Range Rover collector, and it’s becoming rarer than a Suffix. It does need restoration, but once completed it will turn out a great bargain! I am reluctant to sell it, but I have a new project and I realize that I cannot carry out both!
Car is located in northern Italy, “DVLA permanent export certificate” in my name.
