This Escort has just been shipped over from South Africa, which has the perfect climate for motor vehicles. It is good to know it, s lifetime has been spent in the South African sun!

Original RHD.
Mot and tax exempt.
Floors, chassis rails and sills look excellent and original, i can see no signs of plates or welding or any needed. Take a close look at the floors they do not even look like they have been undersealed, if they have it was a thin coat a long time ago.
Excellent "A" posts.
Strengthened shell from the factory similar to RS type 49, shock mount top plates, etc.
Opening front quarter windows.
1600cc, 711m engine fitted. Engine runs great, clutch, brakes and gears all feel good.
The original 1300cc engine is also supplied with the car.
Electrics, wipers work on both speeds, heater fan works on both speeds (matrix is disconnected), speedo works, fuel gauge works and it is accurate, same for temperature gauge, headlights and indicators all work, has a fancy central locking alarm. For all these components to be working on an old South African car is very rare indeed.
The cars original Ford service book included with correct vin number, etc, which is in English and Afrikaans.
No nasty sunroof.
Both door bottoms are very good with no signs of rot.
Body work is very straight.
A very good car, but not perfect.
Roof lining is good.
Original colour was light blue (underside of bonnet).

Paint is good, but not great.
Slight paint damage on arch of o/ s wing (can be seen in pic).
