Looking for a new home or a family to enjoy her, is this lovely 109 long wheel base Land Rover. She was cast (made) in 1964 and although her 'B card (military record) has been lost, we know she served with the Gloucestshire Regiment from some old photos we have. A heritage certificate can be purchased from Land Rover if required. The 2a 109's are what the infamous SAS Pink Panthers (or Pinkys) were made from and are now very hard to find in this condition.
We have old MOT certificates dating back to 1999 - at which her recorded mileage was 47502. Given her current mileage is 58707, that is 11205 miles in 21 years or 500 miles a year!
She has new rear bench seats, and a new old stock canvas, although she has been dry stored most of her life. She had a new coat of paint recently in the correct IRR paint. The bulkhead, footwells, outriggers, chassis and rear cross member are all superb. She does not have military front seats, but age related civilian seats which are much more comfortable. Military seats can be fitted if required. Given her age she is tax and MOT exempt and insurance is very low (we pay around £80. 00 / year) she is probably not ULEZ compliant!
For a Land Rover she pulls very well and is surprisingly good to drive. It would be lovely to hold onto her, but needs must, sadly. If you know Land Rovers, you know what to expect... if you are new to Land Rovers, please understand they rain on the inside as well as the outside. They leak oil. (As a friendly farmer once told me, if they leak oil, that is a good sign... it means there is oil in it!) They have soft brakes. They are noisy and bumpy. They have no cup holders or MP3 players.... but by gosh they make you smile!
Please understand she is not concours but a very good example.
Transport can be arranged at an additional cost.
