I’m selling my 1928 2-Litre speed model. I’ve owned this since 2013. It had been stored in a dry workshop since 1975. It took two years of gradual recommissioning, including much engine work, a rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt wheels, restored petrol tank, replacement windscreen glass, replacement hood and tonneau and a variety of other repairs. I’ve kept it as original as I can – so it has wonderful patina and much originality. A lot of work was undertaken on the car between the 1940s and 1970s, but I’ve removed anything that was incorrect and tried to get back to the correct spec. I do run it with a remanufactured Burlen 1930s-pattern carburettor for usability. The car runs well and I tend to use it on dry days from spring to summer – perhaps completing 300-500 miles a year. It’s not a perfect car, but its honest, reliable, looks great and is highly usable. A lovely and original car for a Lagonda enthusiast.
