For sale is my pre war Chevrolet JC half ton pickup. This truck is 100% original other than 12 volt electrics and non-vacuum windscreen wipers. This truck was the subject of a full frame off restoration, some ten years. The underside of my truck has to be seen to be believed, everything has been repainted, restored or replaced if needed. This includes the brakes, the shackles, the king pins, the steering joints etc etc. There is no evidence of any welding or accident damage anywhere in its 82 years !
The 216cu motor is the original, coupled to its factory 4 speed on the floor - it drives just as it should. The motor has been stripped, inspected and rebuilt where required before being fully repainted. Again, the motor needs to be seen to be believed.
The axles have been rebuilt with new bearings, as has the differential. The radiator has been recored with a three core set up to help it run a little cooler.
The brakes are surprisingly powerful after being fully overhauled properly. The fuel tank has been flushed out and new fuel lines fitted. Both period bumpers have been professionally rechromed - this was not cheap.
Sitting inside the truck, it is very basic as you would expect but everything has once again been restored, repaired or replaced where needed. The clocks have been stripped, cleaned and new faces fitted. They look perfect and they work as they should. The bench seat has been reupholstered nicely, floor mats are fitted, aswell as seat belts.
The pickup bed has been built properly with hardwood treated with cedar oil and lined with stainless straps. Looking from the back, the original chevy stop and tail lights still look every bit as good today. The original steel rims have been powder coated, with the original stainless beauty rings fitted and the period whitewall Cross plys complete that pre war look perfectly.
Being an older restoration there are a few marks, scratches and minor imperfections all over the truck but these are not too easy to capture in the photos. I don't feel they affect the overall look of the truck. My truck is a 'turn-key' vehicle ready for everyday use or to show.
As can be seen in the pictures, my truck has masses of paperwork which all proves everything I have described. It is a genuine magazine featured truck with a four page spread in 'classic american' from 2012.
