Description
Ford escort mk6 si rare 130bhp cabriolet.
Has had a early mk5 xr3i front end conversion. Including the xr/ rs2000/ cosworth headlamps, xr/ rs2000 front bumper all with all working lamps. Also has the early mk5 xr3i alloy wheels to complete the look.
Being an early mk6 si cabriolet, it has all the factory parts from the defunct xr3i.
Meaning that it has the full high output 1. 8 130bhp 16v zetec engine, rear disk brakes, uprated suspension and heavy duty mtx 75 gearbox. (Goldmine of rare parts that were factory fitted for one year on some of the early model mk6 escorts)
All working well in in good condition.
It has the earlier rare mk5 escort xr3i front (better looking in my opinion) so really an xr3i that had been re-badged.
This had been done with geniune ford parts. obviously not factory fitted.

Someone at some point has had an aftermarket backbox exhaust fitted , so it has a nice low exhaust note (if your into that sort of thing)
runs and drives and was used daily. Now surplus to requirements.
brakes are tip top, suspension is all good, gearbox cooling system, charging system all good as is the engine which has had new-
Bosch ht leads,
Ngk spark plugs,
oil change with correct ford spec oil,
air, oil and fuel filters
and additional has been done gearbox oil brake fluid a coolant change (as many people overlook this)
Cam belt done recently also for piece of mind.
Right the bad bits -
Has slight bubbling of rust around the nearside rear arch (as puctured) and slight bubbling on top or rear quarter panels where the roof sits (very minor)
The rear bootlid around the spoiler has just started to bubble (very minor)
Front bonnet requires finishing with paint/ laquer
Drivers seat rear trim panel missing (cheap, as shared with other mk6 seats with rear pocket)
3 center trim caps missing from the alloy wheels. (cheap)
Currently no mot (i have no reason why it would not pass another)
All very minor flaws but considering that this vehicle is 26 years old and requres NO welding or major cosmetic work and a top of the range model cabriolet, someone will get a bargin on these now rapidly appreciating classic fords.
