We are pleased to offer a wonderful slice of the nineteen sixties and a Mini that I have grown very fond of indeed. Finished in Speedwell blue with a beautiful contrasting red trim, this Super De Luxe was comprehensively restored 10 years ago and has had only dry use since and has nicely mellowed and is presented in drive, enjoy and show condition. Its a full matching numbers example and is accompanied with a Heritage certificate, registered on the 29th of April 1964 and supplied by Stewart & Arden Limited.
This is one of the nicest MK1 Minis I have ever driven. Jump in, turn the key and press the floor start button and she starts instantly with strong oil pressure. People often think that early 850 Minis are a little pedestrian these days on the roads, not this one, it performs fantastically with a super smooth engine and precise gearbox with the magic wand gearstick. It happily cruises at 50 and is still comfortable at 70 so performance will surprise. The pure Mini driving experience is on offer which is what makes MK1 Minis so addictive, ten inch wheels and a large steering wheel is all you need to start smiling on the open road. I have driven this Mini at length and the experience is fantastic and its lucky new owner will agree.
During its restoration the Mini received a full Newton Commercial interior retrim and the results are fantastic. It has matching seats and carpets and a new roof liner and door cards and the all important door pull handles are present and correct. Being a Super De Luxe it has a three clock centre binnacle, two sun visors and rear ash trays.
This Mini has a very solid shell and it has received a host of new parts. It has the correct fluted sills, the underside is body coloured and coated with a clear wax oil, it also had a new rear subframe, all new brakes and suspension, tyres and refurbished wheels etc. The Speedwell blue paint gleams and has settled well and all of the chrome was also replaced at the same time. We have fully serviced, checked, tuned and driven this Mini and it also has a full MOT. It is of course MOT and tax exempt and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed and in fine health for its vintage of nearly 60 years.
