Please find here for sale my Early Chassis Number DHC 1953 XK120 Drop Head Coupe (Matching Numbers), It starts on the push of the button benefitting from a recent radiator flush and new coolant hoses thermostat, the suspension and brakes have been stripped cleaned and overhauled, the body has been renovated in readiness for a new coat of paint by the new owner. All of the parts with the car are very complete and solid and looking at the build dates and numbers it’s a very early production Right Hand Drive drop head coupe example.
The body and chassis on this car are in superb condition, the chassis has never had any repairs and is as solid as I have ever seen. The body has had a very light restoration with some very sympathetic localized repairs by myself, I was a trained coach builder at an XK body builder specialists back in the 90’s… I fabricated new rear spats too, in alloy…
I will try to add more photos and details in the coming hours and days, but here is something for your to be going on with.
Do please Feel free to contact me via email.
The car is located here in Guernsey and at home so viewing is easy and as an enthusiastic restorer I would always note, viewing is to be advised. It can be done in a day trip… the bus is a £1. 25 from the airport to town and I’m a 5 minute walk from the bus terminus… I can see the ferry terminal from my garden wall too, so nowhere’s too far…
Chassis No: 667014
Engine No: W9821-8.
Heritage Certificate Shows original Colour Combination as the following:
Exterior Paint Colour: Cream.
Interior Trim Colour: Red

Built: September 1953.
The vehicle will need full exterior paint refinishing having been recently prepared to a high standard in bare metal, all, of the underside of the wings and inner panels have been treated with a polymorphic metal primer treatment, the interior is all complete and I have been feeding the seats which have a beautiful original colour patination, the carpets are original and faded but with a nice original feel to them too, the wood work is all there and could be kept as is or restored but thats down to the next owners preferences, I'd keep as is personally, and its the most worthy RHD project car, the hood is looking tattered, but again if you want a rolling project could be tacked back into place and done as you go along… all the original steel floor panels have been painted, the boot floor timber section are made new, new alloy fuel tank supplied with the car, all the underwing closing panels and splash guards are painted and ready to install, all in all it’s a car that needs a coat of paint and building back up, bumper irons all painted and ready, all fixtures and fittings have been pre fitted to make sure they are clear for paint and relevant holes drilled prior to paint…
If you are looking for a most serious project car, with all the right makings of a useable and affordable Classic, which you could enjoy driving on International Rallies, Road Events etc, then I believe this may be the one for you, and it’s priced to sell…
Offers are Invited by email please, the car is for sale and I am open to negotiation and it is priced to sell.
Please Note: The vehicle is currently located in Guernsey, it has recently been placed on Guernsey registration, so the OGW 601 its original plate should be sat on the UK Vehicle Licencing system awaiting to be reunited on its return to the UK, that will be for the new owner to organise, as the sale will be dealt with from here in Guernsey as a ‘Private Sale’ from a Guernsey registration document.
Please feel free to contact me, and please don't be shy to ask any questions, viewings can be arranged, Covid restrictions no longer being a travel issue here in Guernsey.
Can I ask, please serious enquiries only, as this is not your average XK, yes it’s a project car, but as you can see it’s no rust bucket left hooker import.. It is a good solid original matching numbers Home Market RHD, I will not be releasing any further photos or other paperwork online other than the photos attached as I don’t want it spread over every XK forum around the world.
(Please do be patient with me as I may not reply to emails immediately as I only tend to look at my personal emails of a morning and not always every day). No phone calls please at this stage... If I feel your offer is sufficient and serious enough to follow up on I will ask for your number and I will call you and make/ arrange a viewing that works for us both, and please do make an offer I won't be offended, we do have to start somewhere don't we?
The car is currently located in Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Guernsey is serviced by regular ferries via Condor Ferries to Portsmouth UK, and St. Malo France or via plane connections via Aurigny and Blue Islands.
