Iconic series 1 land rover 109 pickup in outstanding super straight condition with an original 32815 miles on the clock. How many survive in this condition with these sorta miles? A hand full if that, this is one of my personal vehicles that id put away for myself, i have stripped and cleaned this vehicle repairing and painting the mating surfaces to protect this great vehicle for the future every bit of work done on this vehicle was done the same way ive done all my vehicles with originality the goal there are no reproduction panels on this vehicle the original nuts and bolts clips screws washers etc where taken out wire wheeled treated taped and died then repalted countless hrs of obsessive compulsive then the vehicle reassembled using copper grease on all the threads. therrs o other vehicle like a land rover with its basic construction and all its bolts on show on every surface all are different all from different suppliers and all stamped with brand names. this detail is a sure fire way of telling how good a vehicle is right bolts right location exposing weather its been restored or smashed etc, the more correct the bolts the better the vehicle this is the way ive done all my vehicles . Keeping the best most original condition i can from an investment point of view,. Any bent torn stretched panels are heat shrunk beaten and metal finnished retaining the original birmabright panel. This said the advantage of doing it all this way is that the vehicle can be taken out used and enjoyed as well as being a sound investment. As we know Land Rovers with there alloy panels and metal chassis are prone to bad corrosion . Ones with high amounts of gal capping surrounds etc like a 107 wag are particularly bad for it and a lot of the corrosion lyes hidden away for the new owner to discover. That is why i have gone to such long lengths to arrest it so that the vehicle can be driven without the worry of it deteriorating badly.
Preserving it like this and retaining its original worn dove grey paint with the birmabright shinning through just looks absolutely knock out it looks loved and maintained it is a work of art as much as a collectable classic. The 107-9 PICKUP with there high flat sided tub are an instantly recognisable ICON
The 109 has had a new 2. 25 litre diesel fitted in the mid 1960s by the land rover dealer while converting the farm to running on all diesel it is an absolutely first class job a total bolt in non butcher operation you would sware it were factory fitted the best guess on the farm when I purchased it was after the conversion it would have been lucky to have done 5000 miles the engine has huge compression runs like clock work and goes like a cut cat ( comparatively) certainly better than a 2L petrol which makes it very very practical and with the low milage is why id put aside fr myself ive had a moment of clarity that i have far to many vehicles and not enough time and it has to go sadly as i have other projects id like to complete
Who every buys this is going to get a cracker of a ride you will easily drive past a row freshly minted 80s on show and steel the looks it just so clean strait and low miles it really stands out you can always spot a quality vehicle from a mile off, at 18000 pounds is a very fair price and you wont loose
