Description
This immaculate example has been the subject of an extensive rebuild to a very high standard, and has an HTP until December 2031.
Previously a very successful 3 litre race car the Marcos now has an extensive and FIA compliant 1965 1800GT specification, including:
- Recent new tub and engine frame
- Recent lightweight bodywork
- Freshly rebuilt strong Volvo engine
- Freshly rebuilt close ratio M40 gearbox with Quaife internals
- Recently rebuilt diff with new alloy casing and LSD
- Quick rack
- Foam filled tank
- Rebuilt dampers and new springs
- New clutch and pads
- Safety equipment all in date
As can be seen, virtually every part of this superb car is either new or recently rebuilt. It only requires setting up on a rolling road and running in to be race ready. It would not be possible to replicate for anywhere near the asking price.
Complete with an excellent history file, a photographic record of the restoration and an excellent spares package, including 6 wheels, alternative 123 distributor and a new long distance fuel tank
Also available by separate negotiation are a new Mass engine requiring pistons and assembly and a spare close ratio gearbox requiring rebuild.
The owner might consider a trade against a sixties sports racer, such as an Elva.
