Description

W124 Mercedes-Benz E300 Diesel estate with the legendary OM606 3. 0 litre straight 6-cyl 24v naturally aspirated diesel engine and 4-speed Automatic gearbox.
Body colour is Mercedes-Benz 199 Black Pearl (Blauschwarz) with Mushroom full leather interior including door cards and bench seat in the boot (7-seater). Burred walnut trim on door caps, dash and centre console including roll top storage box. Cream carpet with MB rubber over mats.
Fantastic specification including 15” 8-hole alloy wheels, electric tilt/ slide steel sunroof, air-con, cruise control, self-levelling suspension, illuminated vanity mirrors, soft close tailgate, etc.

Currently showing 185, 524 miles with MOT to end Jun 2022.

First registered on 1st Jan 1995 and supplied by Sinclair Mercedes-Benz of Newport, Wales. The first owner had the car for 16 years and the second for 6 years, both in the Cardiff area. I purchased the car in April 2017 and brought it to Northern Ireland.

In my ownership the car has had frequent use and covered 4k miles per year approx. It’s been well maintained mechanically with most work carried out by two respected independent MB specialists in the Down/ Armagh area. Work carried out over the past 16k miles include:
- new engine mounts
- new rear suspension spheres
- new front lower wishbones (Lemforder)
- new front tie rods (Lemforder)
- new front springs (Sachs)
- new front anti-roll bar bushes
- new brake lines / brake fluid
- alternator stripped and rebuilt
- new heavy duty 80Ah battery
- rear tailgate wiring loom stripped and rebuilt
- new MB dealer fitted ignition barrel and key
- 4 x Dunlop Sport Blue Contact tyres recently fitted

I have receipts for pretty much all of the above as well as two folders of older service history.
Owners’ wallet with manual and service book and even the original MB leather key fob.

The car rides smoothly and handles beautifully for a car its size. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and the kick down works perfectly. Pulls well through the revs with that wonderful 6-cyl soundtrack. Delivers a consistent 35mpg irrespective of driving conditions or load.

I’ve spent a good deal on getting the suspension and electrics sorted as the car was a near daily driver at one point and I needed it to be reliable. Many of the problem areas common to the W124 have hence already been addressed by myself and won’t be an issue for the next owner.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to lavish the same attention on the bodywork. There are a few scratches and minor dings as to be expected with a 27yo car as well as a rust bubble on the bonnet and under the rear screen. The rear bumper has a few cracks that need addressing.
