Ford Capri MKIII 3. 0 Sport onto the market. the car has undergone some light restoration, it is very original in many respects. The car also comes with an exceptional full history back to new warranting the cars mileage of just over 100, 000 miles. The Ford comes with all its original manuals, handbooks and accessories booklets, early sales invoice and original service book. The cars first service two services were carried out by the supplying London dealership Godfrey Davis (London) Ltd at 1442 and 6119 miles and then the dealership who supplied the Capri to the second owner in Camberwell, London then over maintenance. Currie Motors of Twickenham stamped the book at 11700, 17600 and 24000 miles before German Motors Co Ltd in London SW15 serviced the Capri at 42440 miles in 1983.
Receipts and invoices from the 1980's document a good level of servicing, maintenance and light restoration work and MOT certificates are also on file documenting the Fords mileage. We have the cars first MOT certificate at 3 years old recording 47595 miles and from there at 50123, 53021, 54844, 56057, 57444, 58282, 59089, 60329, 61611, 70350, 74743, 80284, 84836, 88804, 92536, 93699, 94972, 95220, 95583, 97580, 98944, 100504, 100553, 101261, 102224, 102443 and most recently 102509 miles. The history file is superb, very comprehensive and not only does it contain a sales invoice from the Currie Motor Company in 1984, but previous owners have also even kept the deposit receipt and the dealership pledge to its second owner. Invoices in the file date back to the 1980's and the car also retains particularly important original features such as the original dated alloy wheels and etched glass with the cars registration mark.
The body is very original, front wings are original and the paintwork has a nicely aged look to it. The Capri has had rear wheel arch sections in the past, but considering these cars were prone to rust issues, the body has required very little throughout its life. The interior in recent years has been treated to new seat foams and carpets, and again is largely original with a nice patina. VLL 262X has arrived with us from one of our long term regular customers and presents very well. The Black paint finish is of a very good standard, the body panels are lovely and straight the largely original underside rock solid. Mechanically we have serviced the brakes and have put it through an MOT for its next owner, spending over £2000 on mechanical preparation work and we are pleased to report that the major mechanicals are excellent with a strong fit, responsive and quick 3. 0 litre engine, fantastic smooth four speed gearbox, precise and direct steering and comfortable ride. This 1980's Fast Ford is a great buy, its rare, lots of fun, quick and becoming more and more scarce and therefore collectable.
