What a stunning vehicle this one is, the 'holy grail' of early land rover discovery's.. the 300tdi 3 door manual. This particular example has had just 2 previous keepers and only covered 68, 000 miles. The original owner was a rather wealthy chap who owned a large estate, he purchased it brand new from his local land rover dealership who serviced the vehicle right up until 62, 000 miles. From 2020 it was taken on by its current keeper, he purchased the land rover to do the scottish nc500 for which it has now served its purpose, and didn't miss a beat as you would expect.
service history reads as follows; Pdi, 1k, 5k, 7k, 8k, 13k, 14k, 16k, 18k, 22k, 28k, 34k, 37k, 42k, 45k, 49k, 51k, 53k, 56k, 57k, 59k, 60k, 61k and 63k all at the same land rover main dealer. It has then been serviced by specialist garages; At 64k full service and cam belt replacement, 67k new oil filter. We have a large file of invoices for parts replacement and servicing bills, some 40+ pages accompanied by a file containing all of its previous mot certificates. Certainly one well loved land rover.
to drive? the best i have had the pleasure of driving without a shadow of a doubt. ive been around land rovers for some 12+ years so can tell a good one from a not so good one. i drove this one myself over 4 hours back and she performed beyond my expectations. starts and runs like a sewing machine, no undue smoke on boost, no rattles or untoward noises to mention, positive round manners and not as sluggish as many out there. suffice to say she starts, idles, accelerates, handles and brakes all as you would expect, and possibly better.
now then! rust and condition! this is by far the most honest and original land rover i have seen. the boot floor is original and still has the factory green paint, as does the front inner wings, the sills have never seen a welder, in fact ive been all over the discovery and can't find a spec of weld anywhere which is absolutely unheard of.. i have taken over 80 photo's and a 5 minute walkaround video i can send via whatsapp to prospective purchasers should you wish for a closer look before making plans to travel to us. you most certainly wont be disappointed.
the interior is in superb order for its age, no rips or tears to the upholstery, headlining, carpets, or trim. no sagging to the headlining or any discolouration from the notorious leaking sunroofs, nor is the sunroof sealed like many others. again, lots of photo's i can send via whatsapp to confirm, its like brand new.
this is one that warrants coming to see so you can make your own mind up, but in my humble opinion this is the best one i have ever come across, let alone the rarity of the 3 door! the roof tent comes with the discovery which is circa £2, 500 to buy brand new.
so there we are! 2 former keeper land rover discovery 300tdi 3 door manual, just 68, 000 miles from new, full service history, 22 land rover service stamps, recent cam belt change, never seen a welder, original boot floor, arches and sills, no leaky sunroof, 2 keys and a superb drive. well worth travelling to view, we certainly don't think you will be disappointed.
