Description
A mark 6. 5 or mark 7 ( depends on how you think they should be numbered ) escort. The car is currently in ongar, essex. Not at my house.
this is a great car that drives really well when running, its got a 1. 6 zetec engine under the hood and would only need some minor tlc to get it running and a bit of body work to make it like new, it is currently sorn and not running! I am only selling as i had every intention to get this car fixed up but it being parked at a friends far from home, my work schedual plus a family death meant i couldn't give it the time it needs and it would be a real shame for it to sit any longer. I did start it a few times and drive it on my friends farm to keep it going but left it too long and now it won't crank.
the v5 lists the car as a finesse model first registered in 09/ 1998.
it passed it last mot in sep 2020 and i drove the car until oct 2021 when it became a victim of the ulez extension. In my ownership it was my only car and i drove it weekly and never had any issues with it. The car before me i was told, belonged to a mans father who drove it well into old age. The bumpers that came on the car where very scratched and cracked due to him hitting his garage walls, i have no reason not to believe that and there is no structural damage that i could see to say otherwise. For a car of its age the interior i think is in good condition.

the only work i had done was:
:- replacing the front tires
:- fixing a corroded ring wire connector on the alternator and a new belt after witch it ran perfectly.
:- replacing both bumpers with oem as they where both very cracked and scratched

:- i have service/ mot history for the car but do not know if it is complete.
:- i have a fresh set of oem ford finesse stickers
:- i have a set of electric wing mirrors if you wanted to fit them
:- i have the original escort books/ service guide and sales reps card plus the red key.
the bumpers that came wit. The car did not have fog lights, but i replaced them with fog light versions wit. The intension of connecting them up but have not done this, the finesse was supposed to come with fog lights it seems but there is no front fog's switch.

the negatives
:- both rear wheel arches need attention, this is a common escort problem for the mk5/ 6/ 7 escorts. I have all the screws to attached bumpers when this is fixed, should be an easy job for a body shop
:- small patch of rust has appeared on the drivers rear door from an old body work fix from years ago as pictured
:- in heavy rain boot seal leaks,
:- roof lining is beginning to sag
:- rear breaks need attention if parked with handbrake on for long time
other then that it just needs someone with a dab hand to get it running again, it has a new battery in it and when i tried to start it last week it sounded like it was about to turn over. I think someone with a bit more mechanical experience then me could get it to turn over easy.
