We built and sold this van 11 years ago now. But as with all our stock, at the time the van was subjected to a full strip to a bare shell. The van was originally sourced personally by us from South Australia.


Why go Subaru? well here at G'day Kombis in Oxfordshire, we love air cooled vans and have been importing and selling them since 2005. But there is a need for some clients for higher speed cruising on longer trips and longer service intervals. Having a fuel injected engine is also more fuel efficient and system that stays in tune.

The 2 litre engine also produces around 130hp compared with the type 4 2 litres engines factory 70hp. you also get far better 3 stage heating via the water cooled system and an alloy radiator and fan to keep the engine cool. they do pull and drive very well indeed. this conversion isn't some DIY job, it was undertaken by Fellows speed shop who have converted hundreds of these vans.


Once stripped and bare mettaled any areas of concern were treated and repaired if need be. The van was then sent off to Brick Kiln racing for one of their stunning paint jobs. we then installed all new insultion, headlining, full bespoke retrim in Muirhead leather in deep blue.

All of this quality and hard work still shows in the van. we are happy to have the van back in for sale. Since leaving us the owners have elected to have a retro modern upgrade in the form of a Subaru 2 litre fuel injected engine conversion. the Pictures really showcase the work. we love our original air cooled engines here at G'day but we can appreciate some clients needs for a more modern engine with better fuel economy and a little more oomph.

Internally The interior is a camper shak compact set up in light Winchester oak.

the van doesn't have fridge at present but we can install a compressor fridge along with a whole host of other upgrades such as :
