We are delighted to present for sale this 1966 Land Rover® Series 2a, in popular Light Pastel Green colour scheme with Limestone wheels, and seating for seven occupants including the driver.
Externally, as the photos show, this Series 2a has all the features one would hope to see – the vintage numberplates, recent galvanised front bumper, wing-top mounted mirrors, front and rear mud flaps (with the Land Rover® logo), rear grab handles and side steps to aid entry for the front seats, again Land Rover® branded. The look is completed with a recent canvas hood and a set of cross climate tyres to give the best compromise between off and on road ability.
The interior is largely standard with three deluxe seats, door cards for a premium feel and a heater with front demist function, which is a very welcome addition for those colder days. Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. The rear houses a pair of bench seats, which increases seating to seven including the driver, with a load mat to the floor area to protect against scratches and muddy boots.
Out on the road, this Series 2a delivers a pleasing period drive, aided by a Weber Carburettor for extra power, and Parabolic Springs for a vastly improved ride over standard. This Series 2a benefits from a large folder of receipts (and old MOTs) which not only document the rebuild process, but also itemise a lot of the parts used too – this is great to have and it is not commonplace. It has a well sorted feel on the road in light of this.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series which can stand the test of time, as well as carry the whole family, then this could be for you.
