1948 RILEY RMB 2. 5CC EX POLICE CAR AND EX GOODWOOD - SUPERB PROVENANCE
This outstanding Riley RMB was supplied new to West Sussex Constabulary in 1948 and incredibly we have original photos, documents and the original requisition log. It has been thoroughly loved and maintained throughout its life and we have no doubt that it saw plenty of action as a Police vehicle on patrol and then as a Goodwood revival police car. Finished in glossy black and green with rich tobacco leather trim in original condition with many period features. It is rust free with a wonderful patina and a it is remarkable underneath with a good solid chassis – fantastic for a 70 year old car. The history folder is inches deep and includes much history and information including the original Owner’s manual. The motorcar which has a valuable transferable registration of JPX337 had an engine rebuild a few years ago and starts upon request every time. The driving experience is very good and you can be assured of admiring glances every time it is taken out. It is a lovely survivor of a car with good local history, very presentable and eminently reliable. It is fab enough to use as a wedding car or a period film prop car. Imagine purring up to Goodwood revival and taking it back to its home ground…….. a lovely, lovely car with great providence.
