1981 Ford Capri 3. 0 Ghia. Factory Black car which started life as an Auto but has been converted to a 4 speed manual. Car is showing 36000 miles which we cannot verify so assume 136, 000. We have the V5 here but not a great deal of history. The car is very presentable and drives superb, but not a concours example by any means. It would be a great useable example.
Body - Correct and original 3. 0 shell with all the right extra strengthening. Chassis number still visible on the inner wing. Good strut tops , inner wings, sills, arches. Floors look very good with no patches or heavy undersealing. Paintwork is very presentable and car looks and sits really well. Bit of bubbling and microblistering on front edge of wings, couple of bubbles on sunroof panel and on bottom of roof gutter on drivers side. Both rear lower inner quarters look a bit soft and will need a bit attention in the future. If you wanted a minter youd need to paint it, but perfectly presentable and useable as it sits. Rear spoiler fitted
Mechanics - Good 3. 0 engine. Starts no problem and was driven 30 odd miles to us the day before we put this ad up.. We test drove it yesterday and it feels a really tight old car with no nasty knocks or rattles. 4 speed box was fitted and we are told its a proper S box. Good clutch and brakes. Sunroof works both ways. Heater fan doesnt work. Single leaf rear springs, bilstein shocks. good exhaust.
Interior - Looks like its original hia interior which is in very good condition. Uncracked and uncut dash with original radio. Good door cards and rear quarter cards. No rips or tears in seats. Good carpet and headlining. Drivers seat base is sagging a little. Parcel shelf is also very good.
Wheels - 15 Inch JBW RS style wheels with good 195/ 50/ 15 Uniroyal Rainsport tyres
Pretty tidy old car which feels like you could jump in and drive for 100s of miles. There is a wee bit room for improvement on the paintwork but we believe the price reflects this.
