We are delighted to present for sale this high-specification Series 2a, finished in Audi Nardo Grey. This is a rare to find crossover 2a model, with the lights in the wings and the maltese grill, whilst still retaining the “hard” dash internally with central dials and centre key slot…. even rarer a rebuilt vehicle on a Galvanised Chassis.
Externally, the spec is endless – the front winch bumper with working winch, bonnet mounted spare, rock sliders, new black canvas, 750 tyres on black rims, front and rear lamp guards and rear bumperettes, vintage number plates and wing top mounted mirrors. There is a height adjustable towbar to allow towing, which is also a good addition. In our opinion, we think it looks great – a good amalgamation of classic vintage appeal and modern upgrades which gives a strong stance and striking appearance. The bodywork is also of a spray finish to a good standard, which is great to see.
On the inside, there are a pair of deluxe highback seats with central cubby box, equipped with cupholders. Deluxe door cards are fitted, along with a carpet set to the seat box and transmission tunnel. Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. There is a heater with front demist, which is handy for those colder winter mornings, to prevent freezing up. The rear is unfitted, with the exception of a load mat to the floor area – this could house bench seats on request for £595 to bring seating to six people including the driver.
Out on the road, this Series 2a is amongst the best of the period drives – the previous rebuild onto a galvanised chassis gives this a well sorted feel – the petrol engine pulls well, aided by the overdrive for better economy and top end speed – the larger tyres mean this is brought to its absolute maximum potential. The winch means no getting stuck in the winter, too. It delivers a pleasing experience and turns heads thanks to the rarely seen colour scheme.
In summary, if you are looking for a Land Rover® Series 2a which has been rebuilt onto a Galvanised Chassis, looks a little different from the crowd and benefits from a host of modern upgrades to make that classic drive more liveable, then this could be for you. With MOT & Tax Exemption, along with classic insurance, it should prove cost-effective to run in the longer term – whilst the galvanised chassis gives peace of mind in relation to longevity and protection from corrosion!
