Selling my 1962 Mk2 Jaguar 3. 8 5 speed gartrac
Still carries its original registration 655 DUL
The reason for the sale if has been driven once in the past 12 months.
Firstly it was originally supplied as a 3. 8 auto and was converted to a 5 speed Gartrac gearbox in the 90s when the car underwent a fully rotisserie restoration including a full mechanical overhaul.
Mechanically perfect, has covered little mileage since restoration, approx 15, 000
Runs very well oil pressure 60 + PSI when cold 35 when hot, uses no oil, it runs without a rattle or emitting any smoke when cold start up or hot running, It's been fitted with power steering, making it a more useable example and is an utter joy to drive.
I had a Haywood & Scott stainless exhaust system fitted 2 years ago, which sounds unbelievably good.
Youtube walk around video of car running - details above
The car is totally reliable I would happily drive to Scotland and back without hesitation.
Bodywork is nice and straight, it has a great patina to it, has the odd small storage mark/ imperfection, but no corrosion, door gaps/ lines are all correct. The underneath shows no signs of repairs, had a light coating of Dimetol 3000 to insure it stays like that.
Please bear in mind it was restored in the 90s and has been used, so not a show car, but would sit at any classic car event without embarrassment.
Interior is good, but this is where I would spend the time as it could benefit from some love, seats a little faded but still supple, door cards need replacing.
Happy to assist with transportation and shipping for any overseas
buyers.
Open to viewings in Hertfordshire UK
In summary an absolute peach of a Mk2 that just needs taking to the next level with a little time and money.
