Beschreibung
Sunbeam Rapier Series 3 first registered on 14/ 6/ 1960 1500cc. Very attractively finished in factory Pearl Grey & Pippen Red, a sporty little number from Rootes with twin carbs, overdrive, and a rev-counter, highly prized additions way back in 1960s while the series 3 was blessed with front disc brakes and now had the larger 1500cc engine fitted.
We understand from the last owner that the car had spent some considerable time off the road dry stored before he acquired it and consequently carried out re-commissioning prior to returning the car to the road.
New front brake discs and callipers fitted, brake pipes, rear brake cylinders and shoes, steering joint, hoses, oils, filters, plugs, battery, and very recently a new four piece steel exhaust system.
On close inspection the car all appears to be very sound on the body work, clean shiny coachwork and certainly as good in the flesh as the photos manifest. The underside again extremely sound and showing no signs of welding or previous repairs, with both doors hanging well and closing with a nice audible sound.
There’s no denying we had some very attractive individual cars back in the 60s, a certain kind of magic and excitement that still pulls on the heart strings of us older enough to remember them today. Interior- apart from all new carpets fitted by the last owner the interior is in very nice original condition and survived really well, good chrome all round again just as the photos show.
Supplied new by Robert Chidley Ltd Rootes main dealers in Tottenham. We have a little service book showing the first two services along with a few invoices, club information ect. Still on its original registration with a current V5c owners handbook ect.
