This splitscreen barndoor bus spent its first years in Germany and then served as a school bus for a Greek school in Athens in a second life. After its service as a school bus, it disappeared for years in a dusty shed where it was found again around 2012.

In 2013 this barndoor samba was offered to us and we bought this bus in Greece. That in itself was already quite a risky undertaking with all the dangers that entails… After purchasing it, it was in our collection for a few years until one day a friend of the house came to visit who then fell completely in love with this bus. We felt that this bus deserved to be shown and should not be dusty in a corner. At the time, this person commissioned us to preserve this bus and not to restore it. So technically completely in order again, but its authenticity had to be preserved at all times. Supposedly done. In 2016 we carried out the following work: overhaul of the brakes with original ATE parts, overhaul of the front axle, overhaul of the gearbox, overhaul of the correct engine (not its original one). Ice blasting from the underside and provided with a transparent conservation wax, new tires all around (5x) and many other smaller works were carried out. Since then, the previous owner has driven it on several trips, including 2x to Hessisch Oldendorf.

This is an early barndoor samba. This is characterized by the deep skylights (deep skylights), all curved windows of the Plexiglass brand and is not yet equipped with a rear bumper.
