Description
Ford Cortina Mk3 2. 5 V6 Pickup or Bakkie as they are known in South Africa. This is a genuine Ford factory built pickup which were not available here. Its very solid and fairly tidy and looks to have been well looked after. All taxd and duty has been paid and the UK registration has been applied for.
Body - Genuine factory built pickup. Similar to our MK5 P100 pickups but we never got a MK3 version. Pretty solid in the main. Good inner wings, front floors, sills, doors, rear tub. Will need a couple of minor repairs at the front round the subframe mounts and alos the rear floors at either side. Panel gaps are all good. Paint is reasobnably tidy and perfectly useable. . Its not a show winner but a perfectly presentable old truck.
Mechanics - 2. 5 V6 Essex with 4 speed box and standard running gear. Engine sounds good and nice and quiet, Gearbox is fine as are the clutch and brakes. Handbrake dash mechanism needs sorting and handbrake cable is snapped. Starts runs and drives but will need a checkover before putting on the road. It was being used prior to export.
Interior. - Bench seat which has a tear and could do with a retrim. Door cards are ok but again a bit worn. These cabs are longer than the MK5 version and there is more legroom.. .
Wheels - Chrome cyclone rims. Tyres look OK but ive no idea how old they are.
