The E30 M3 needs no introduction. An established motorsport legend, multiple DTM winner, cult 80s classic and downright hoot, the first generation M3 is one of the most iconic BMWs ever made, with looks, performance and sheer enjoyability few cars can match.

The drop top E30 M3 is a supremely handsome machine – the E30 lends itself particularly well to the convertible layout – and combines style and performance in a truly unbeatable package. With only 786 made – all in LHD – the E30 M3 cabriolet is a truly international cult car, rare, desirable and pretty damn funky to boot. This particular version is the more desirable, later, 215bhp cat S14.

This particular model is very special, with a fabulous history and provenance, in great condition – and a lovely drive. Having spent the majority of its life indoors in a private collection, it has very low mileage, at the same time having been used regularly and kept in fine road-going shape. The history file includes extensive records of servicing and work carried out over the last 20+ years by an extremely conscientious owner, and excellently, even the original bill of sale from the dealer in Germany, as well as the fahrtzeugbrief (German version of the V5). This is exactly the sort of provenance and history file one looks for when acquiring a classic of this importance.

We see less and less of these lovely machines, as the US market gobbles up more and more of the original European cars, or the lesser cared-for cars succumb to the ravages of time. This one is an utter gem, and having passed a full inspection by our workshop team, we are genuinely as pleased as punch to have the opportunity to find a new home for this cracking M3 cab.
