For sale. "La Duchesse". the ID version of the DS 19.
Originally from Nice, brought over here approximately 20 years ago.
Over the last 5 years of ownership, I have spent over £15k, including a complete body restoration and respray in Bleu Pacifique, with the addition of a pair of period Marchal spotlights. The chassis and wing insides are thoroughly coated in underseal.
Under the skin, she has had a complete engine rebuild, with rebored cylinders and new rings, a new clutch, a modern replacement alternator, starter motor, electronic ignition, new disks, an overhaul of the LHS hydraulics, the spheres replaced, and enough LHS2 for 5 years driving.
She now starts on the button, rises and drops smartly and evenly, and drives comfortably with no fuss.
She is not perfect. There is an area of rust in the boot that needs sorting, and the interior needs a partial refresh.
But she has been used for weddings and carried the entire family of 4 and all our luggage on holiday long distance through France in true style and without a hitch.
She is gorgeous and reliable, and gently upgraded to make her a usable daily classic.
