In 1966, Henri Ford II and Caroll Shelby made motoring history forever with their triple victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Three GT40s crossed the finish line together, overtaking Ferrari's six previous consecutive victories at Le Mans. Produced in only a few hundred examples from 1964 to 1968, it is very rare to find an original GT40 on the market, and when it does, it fetches prices over several million euros. After Ford ceased production, the British industrial company Safir Engineering bought the GT40 brand. As a result, the Californian firm Superformance was authorised to manufacture GT40 continuation cars under Safir licence, with chassis numbers following those of the original GT40s. Superformance has an international reputation thanks to the quality of the chassis it produces, and assures us that more than two-thirds of the parts are interchangeable between a genuine GT40 and one that has left their factory. This one was assembled by Gentleman Car, its official importer in Belgium. Equipped with a 7-litre OVH V8 'big block' engine that has just undergone a complete overhaul, and a 4-speed gearbox, this continuation is fortunate enough to have a PTH and will therefore be able to race in some of the most prestigious historic events. The car is a special Shelby Le Mans edition in the 'Amon' colour, with a livery echoing that of Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren's GT40, the first to cross the finish line at Le Mans in 1966. An exceptional opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Le Mans 24 Hours legend at a reasonable price.

The car is registered in Belgium. We advise potential buyers to verify the legal requirements and registration process in their country.
