Always ahead of its competitors, Cadillac was the first car maker in the world to offer its customers a V16 engine. The Series Sixty was one of the first Cadillacs to be designed by Harley Earl and his young protégé Bill Mitchell. It was fitted with the 5. 7-litre (346ci) V8 engine.
Its current owner has owned the model presented here since 26 January 1997, 26 years ago! He bought it at the Poulain-Le Fur auction held at the Musée de Reims, set up by Bernard de Lassé and Philippe Charbonneaux.
Only six Town Car versions of this Cadillac 60, with a glass division behind the driver, were built in 1939. It has magnificent styling, with a very Art Deco front. Only four examples are believed to remain today. It is in reasonable cosmetic condition but will naturally need some work. The upholstery is well preserved. We found service bills dating back to 1998 in its history file. The engine has not run for several years and will therefore require a complete overhaul to bring it back to life.
Estimation 18 000 - 24 000 ?
