When the Porsche 901 replaced the ageing 356 in 1963, it quickly became clear that an icon had been born. The type designation 901 had to be changed to 911 as the 901 was reserved for Peugeot. Porsche therefore had to change the name - 901 became 911. The car was well received, but its sometimes critical driving behaviour spoilt the enjoyment for some customers. Until 1968, Porsche experimented with the weight distribution, different tyres and chassis modifications to reduce the massive tendency to oversteer. This 911 T from 1972 (F model with oil flap!) was extensively restored in Germany and converted to the Carrera RS 2. 7 in the course of the restoration. The 2. 7 litre engine comes from the G-model of the 911 and the conversion was carried out by a brand and motorsport expert. A performance test report is available (210 hp), as well as invoices and restoration documentation. The customers liked the car - although handling was quite tricky due to heavily oversteering under certain conditions. Porsche worked on that till 1968 - other tires, modifications on undercarriage and changes to the weight distribution - the breakthrough came in 1969 with the longer wheelbase. This 911 F-Model was restored in Germany a few years ago and during the restoration modified to Carrera RS 2. 7 specification by using a 2. 7 litre engine from a G-Model. All work carried out by a german Marque - and Motorsportspecialist. Invoices and enginepowerdiagramme ( 210 PS ) came with the car that did only 7. 600 km since restoration.
