We are delighted to present for sale this lovely 1981 Series 3 Land Rover®, refurbished by John Brown 4×4 in 2019 to “Bond” specification – as a replica of the vehicle used in “No Time To Die”. Due to a change of circumstances, we are delighted to be able to offer this for sale once again.
Externally, this has all the hallmarks of one of our refurbished “Bond” Editions – which were part of a limited run built by the team – and this one was one of the highest specifications ever completed. This special edition model features flared wheel arches, new canvas, a full set of tyres on limestone rims, a galvanised bumper, defender mirrors and a recently refurbished body with a spray finish. The photos speak for themselves – and down to the colour coded lamp surrounds – it is an authentic replica – those doubting this claim – we invite you to watch the film, which we studied for hours to get the right level of finish. It really is, in our opinion, one of the coolest Land Rovers® ever – and any James Bond fan will notice straight away.
On the inside, this client opted for a stunning (and very expensive!) Tan Leather Interior – matched to an Evander Wood Steering Wheel…. the owner is a world renowned designer in the fashion and high end product sector – and you can really tell from in here too. Seating for seven is fitted, with deluxe matting to the footwells. It is a lovely place to be and the seats stay cool in the sun as they are not the usual black, which is a nice touch! A rear galvanised tailgate protector is fitted as the current keeper occasionally carried his dog and didn’t want to scratch the paint!
We were delighted to receive this Series 3 back at HQ and found it drives just as we remember – nice steering, strong brakes (servo assisted too) and an engine with a nice, raspy exhaust note which encourages you to drive just as James Bond did. It delivers a pleasing period drive aided by the larger tyres for better gearing – which is a nice touch when cruising as it lowers the revs and quietens the cabin down too.
In summary, if you are looking to procure one of our limited edition Series 3s which can carry the whole family in comfort, then this could be for you. With the added bonus of MOT & Tax Exemption, along with classic insurances, it should prove cost-effective to run in the long term – whilst being an appreciating asset for the future… and who doesn’t want to feel like James Bond when popping to the beach on a weekend?
