1981 Ford Capri 3. 0 Ghia. Factory Black car which started life as an Auto but has been converted to a 4 speed manual along time ago.. Car is showing 37000 miles which we cannot verify so assume 137, 000. We have the V5 here and 2 history folders, one of which contains details of a full restoration back in late 90s. The car is very presentable and drives superb, but not a concours example by any means. It would be a great tidy useable example.
Body - Correct and original 3. 0 shell with all the right extra strengthening. Chassis number still visible on the inner wing. Good strut tops , inner wings, sills, arches. Floors look very good with no patches or heavy undersealing. Paintwork is very presentable and car looks and sits really well. Minor bit of bubbling and on sunroof panel and on front scuttle.
Inner lower rear quarters looklike they have been tidied up at some point. If you want it perfect they would need looking at but again not major.
Mechanics - Good 3. 0 engine. Starts no problem. We test drove it today and it feels a really tight old car with no nasty knocks or rattles. 4 speed box was fitted and we are told its a proper S box. Good clutch and brakes. Sunroof works both ways. Heater fan doesnt work. Single leaf rear springs, bilstein shocks. good exhaust. Sounds really well
Interior - Looks like its original Ghia interior which is in very good condition. Uncracked and uncut dash with original radio. Good door cards and rear quarter cards. No rips or tears in seats. Good carpet and headlining. Drivers seat base is sagging a little. Parcel shelf is also very good.
Wheels - Correct Ghia wheels with good tyres
Pretty tidy old car which feels like you could jump in and drive for 100s of miles. There is a wee bit room for improvement here and there, but we believe the price reflects this.
