Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3. 8l Cabriolet (OTS) 1963 Matching number Certificate Jaguar Heritage The E-Type, in its first cabriolet version, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful automobile designs in the world. A timeless style that still inspires many today. This beautiful example is one of the most desirable early models (1961-1963). The burgundy/ white combination is particularly elegant. This car was delivered new on 5 April 1963 to Jaguar Cars in New York. It remained there until its arrival in France in 2008. Since then, it has had only two owners, including the current one. The bodywork is in excellent condition. Restored around fifteen years ago, the car has retained all its period charm. A full technical inspection revealed no corrosion on the chassis or underpinnings. The front and rear axles have been rebuilt in the past. The alignment of the doors is not perfect, but it's well done. The chrome is in excellent condition and the front bumpers are new. The burgundy soft top is also new. As for the engine, it is fitted with its original 3. 8-litre block fed by 3 SU carburettors. This famous in-line 6-cylinder engine develops just over 265 bhp. A must for its time! It is fitted with its original Moss 4-speed gearbox. The car is maintained by its owner as it should be. Recent work includes: - replacement of the water pump and expansion tank - fitting of 4-piston aluminium brake calipers - complete removal/ reinstallation of the gearbox for overhaul - replacement of the complete clutch kit The car is serviced by a specialist in these models. Finally, the burgundy interior is in beautiful condition. As with all early models, it has an aluminium dashboard and centre console. The leather seats and door panels were redone a few years ago. The instrumentation is functional, and the steering wheel is smaller than the original for greater comfort. An electronic ignition has also been fitted to facilitate daily use. The detailed appraisal revealed a car in good mechanical condition, with a beautiful body and a beautifully crafted interior. The technical inspection is favourable from 01/ 2025.
