In the mid-1960s, the British brand Triumph capitalized on the trend for small, sporty convertibles. The TR3 and TR4 (TR for Triumph Roadster) models were successful. But demand for more powerful models was growing, and so the brand switched to 6-cylinders with the TR5.
However, for the American market and the anti-pollution standards, the brand exported just under 8, 500 examples of the TR 250, with its TR5 look, whose main technical feature was to have 2 carburettors and develop 104 bhp, not bad for a 1967/ 8 car. In fact, the TR 250 was only produced for a total of 2 years. According to enthusiasts' clubs, there are no more than 1, 000 of them in existence worldwide.
NYC's/ OXOTO presents here a beautiful red car with black leather interior and less than 17, 500 km on the clock. Delivered new in September 1967, it became Belgian in 2013 with 11, 409 km on the clock at that time. The last owner has owned it since 2018 (15, 000 km) when he bought it from a well-known Belgian classic car dealer.
As far as the bodywork is concerned, we can clearly speak of a car in concours condition! Everything has been refurbished, and we obviously have photos of the extensive restoration that was carried out. According to our information, this restoration dates back to 2002, which means that it has been very well done, otherwise the defects would show through.
The soft top is also in excellent condition, as is the chrome (bumpers, surrounds, mirrors).
The upholstery is really very good, as are the carpets, the wooden dashboard, etc. Everything works impeccably well.
Mechanically, we only have one recent service invoice (June 2023) but we can confirm that everything has also been refurbished. This can be seen in the photos taken on deck, where you can see that nothing has been spared in the restoration. She drives really well, and her sound is a real pleasure to listen to!
It starts without a hitch, handles well, and accelerates, brakes, etc. In fact, the latest MOT report dates from March 2025 and mentions only one minor remark (which is common with our ancestors) about a possible fluid leak, although we didn't see anything on the ground.
As well as photos of the restoration, we have the original instruction manual.
A bridge is available on our premises to show you the underside of the vehicle.
