Description
- No. 058 of 100 built - Belgian vehicle, checkbook maintained - Special colour by Aston Martin Vehicle history: This special model, limited to just 100 examples, was extensively and lovingly configured by the first owner Petit David. This Morgan Aeromax is a well-maintained example of the rare and unmistakable small-series sports coupé, which is offered with a very low mileage. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 4. 8-litre V8 engine from BMW, producing 368bhp and 370lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Weighing just 1, 180kg, the Aeromax can do 0-100 km/ h in just 4. 2 seconds. This Aeromax with three previous owners is number 58 of only 100 examples produced and presumably one of 80 examples built as a left-hand drive. The odometer shows 12, 297 kilometres. It was originally designed as a one-off for Prince Eric Sturdza, but high demand prompted Morgan to produce a limited run of Aeromax cars to celebrate its centenary. Based on the Aero 8, the Aeromax features offset front headlights, an elegant curved roof with split rear window, flush doors, various interior revisions, lightweight alloy wheels manufactured by RAYS and the signature Lancia Thesis tail lights.
This example is finished in a special Aston Martin colour with an interior in Muirhead leather seats and two-tone door trim, with light ash wood on the upper dashboard and door cards and a dark milled aluminium trim on the dashboard. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels from the RAYS forge, which are painted silver-grey, frame AP Racing brake callipers and are fitted with Avon tyres. Features include side-exit sports exhausts, an upgraded sound system with more powerful subwoofers, three front windscreen wipers, electric windows, push-button start, a Clarion stereo system, a gear knob, an aluminium handbrake lever, cruise control, automatic climate control, an analogue clock and opening rear windows. The car comes with the original owner's handbook, the service booklet, two sets of keys, a certificate of authenticity and a collection of maintenance invoices.
