History With the Rapide, Aston Martin set out to create the most beautiful four-door sports car in the world. Design work was undertaken at the Aston Martin Design Studio, a bespoke creative workspace located at the company's headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, UK. The result was the Rapide Concept, revealed to the world at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show. The vision was then faithfully translated into the production Rapide. As well as being Aston Martin's first four-door production car, the Rapide is a car of exceptional performance, as its low, sleek and elegant body suggests. For ease of day-to-day use, the luggage compartment featured a movable partition to allow access from the rear of the cabin, while the rear seats folded flat at the touch of a button to create a flat load space increasing the luggage compartment from 317 litres to 886 litres.
