Description
Model History: The Jaguar XK 140 was launched on 15 October 1954. The successor to the XK 120, this new Jaguar resembled it, but there were some important differences: firstly, the rack-and-pinion steering - you only had to turn the wheel when stationary to see how docile the wheels were - made it lighter and more precise on the road. This makes it lighter and more precise on the road. Secondly, the more comfortable driving position is due to the repositioning of the engine (8cm forward), the steering (column with two universal joints) and the battery compartment (placed in the front wing), not forgetting a slightly wider passenger compartment and 2 small rear seats. Thirdly, the exterior finish is different, with larger bumpers and a chrome line running through this new Jaguar. Mechanically, this new Jaguar XK 140 is powered by the same 190 bhp engine as the XK 120 'Special Equipment'. Unlike the XK 120, Jaguar is launching the 3 models - Roadster, Cabriolet and Coupé - at the same time. Only 1, 488 examples of the XK 140 Cabriolet were produced, making it one of the most elegant and sporty models of its generation, with a 0 to 100 km time of 8. 5 seconds.
