Magnificent condition, fully restored KARDEX available Rare model 356A with sunroof US version bumper bumpers easily removable Original colour match This 356A We are pleased to offer this exceptional 1959 Porsche 356A T2 'Super' Sunroof Coupe, presented in its highly sought after original colour combination of Schwarz (Black) with red leatherette interior. Delivered new to the United States, this example benefited from a complete and meticulous rotisserie restoration carried out in Italy in 2009. The bodywork has been repainted in its original factory colour, as confirmed by the chassis plate and the KARDEX document supplied. The interior has been refurbished with the same care, in bright red leatherette, with components restored or replaced to concours standards. One of the rarest and most distinctive features of this 356 A is its fully functional sunroof. It is fitted with US specification bumper stops; however, the internal reinforcements were not included in the restoration, allowing the future owner to easily remove them for a more streamlined European style appearance. Originally supplied with a 1600S engine, this 356A Super is now fitted with a fully rebuilt 1960 1. 6L '1600 S' engine, still producing the iconic 75bhp of the factory 'Super' version. Since its rebuild, the engine has seen very little use and the car remains in excellent mechanical condition - ready to hit the road and be fully enjoyed. Power is transmitted through its '716' matching gearbox! The car is fitted with upgraded replacement disc brakes, offering increased stopping power and improved performance. The original drum brakes are also included with the car for those wishing to preserve its classic configuration. The car is sold with a full photo file detailing the rotisserie restoration, its current Belgian registration certificate and the KARDEX factory production sheet.
