Description

The 1968 Jaguar E-Type, specifically the Series 1. 5 and Series 2 models, featured a 4. 2-liter inline-6 engine producing 265 bhp and 283 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It had a top speed of 150 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 6. 4 seconds. Key features included a redesigned engine block, improved cooling system, and changes to meet safety and emissions regulations.

Cooling System: New copper cross-flow radiator with thermostatically controlled fan.
Exhaust: Shorter resonators and longer outlet pipes.
Interior: Improved seats and interior trim.
Fuel: Leaded petrol (until the introduction of unleaded fuel options). 
Series 1. 5 vs. Series 2: The 1968 model year included both Series 1. 5 and Series 2 versions. The Series 1. 5 retained the covered headlights of the Series 1, while the Series 2 had open headlights and other changes to meet safety and emissions standards.
