1973 MG Midget RWA (Round Wheel Arch) running and driving absolutely spot on, very smooth and responsive on the road, classic British sports car with the optional hood down cover and full tonneau, finished in the best of all Midget colours British racing green.
The 1275cc engine starts easily and runs well, pulling strongly through all the gears, smooth clutch, no judder and plenty of bite, it stops very well with front disc brakes and is steady at speed with no wandering or vagueness of any kind the steering wheel is rock steady and if you press the “go” pedal hard it’s quick at getting up to the speed limit, see it in action in our video.
Under the bonnet is well presented and tidy enough, showing signs of recent and regular service, we have checked all the fluids for correct level and contamination, oil is as new, still clear, coolant is crystal clear and with good antifreeze mixture, see the pics, maintains excellent oil pressure when warm. The odometer is showing 99300 miles.
The interior is very smart, the seats have been redone, look like new, door cards are mint, everything is smart and intact, no damage or missing switches and absolutely every switch, dial, clock and gauge work correctly, presentable unmolested dashboard, very tidy, newish carpet set, it’s a sung place to get comfy for some motoring adventures.
Both doors, boot and bonnet open, click shut and lock, the windows wind down, the quarter light vents twist, the side lights, head lights (one sealed beam headlight has failed, replacement on the way), fog light, horn, wiper, washers, fog light, interior light, boot light, optional front driving lights all work.
The hood is very serviceable and fits snugly, it has a seen some small repairs, the windows are very clear with no cracks, the hood frame is in very good order, the hood down cover again fits snugly on every fastener and the full tonneau fits well and the zip works.
The paintwork is presentable, there are a few imperfections that will be found on close inspection on just about every panel, it’s not immaculate, that said it wants nothing doing to enjoy it, if you’re looking for a show winer it’s not for you, if you want some affordable MG fun it is. Bright work is all good, not new and slightly aged with some pitting.
It’s solid underneath, the sill’s, floor pans, jacking points, chassis legs are solid, there are signs of historic repairs, we have had it 6ft in the air picked up on the sills, see the pics and video for a full underside tour, it has been extensively undersealed and greased on the underside, in the video we use a hammer to tap all the chassis, sills, spring hangers and floorplans to show its solid underneath, any inspection welcome. The car is running a matching set of nearly new Goodyear tyres, including the spare.
We have the full current logbook, registered 8th Aug 1973, two sets of keys, a few service invoices and a huge list of service notes in the back of the Haynes manual, the car has clearly been cherished, its HPI clear and the car is TAX and MOT exempt “Historic Vehicle” and comes with 2 sets of keys.
Draw out of your boring ISA, get out the picnic hamper and go and enjoy your hard earned savings, you still have a car to sell if you want to cash in later and you will be making memories instead of a pittance of interest.
There are loads of Midgets to pick from, you simply will not find another this well demonstrated, with everything shown to you before you leave the house, nothing hidden and nothing to hide.

All viewings are exclusively by timed APPOINTMENT ONLY, we do not have a showroom or display area, items may have to be brought from our secure storage to view and advance notice will be required.
