This Porsche 911 was first built in September 1966 as a 2. 0 Coupe and first registered 19th May 1967 by original selling dealer, Porsche of America, Teaneck, New Jersey USA.
The car remained in the USA, latterly in California until 1995, the owner, a British Gentleman then relocated back to the UK bringing the car with him. (official export documentation included).
The Porsche had already by this stage been fitted with a later 2. 2-litre engine. It appears that at some point in its life whilst still in America, that this early SWB car was reshelled with a body from a later, Long Wheel Base 911.
Purchased by the previous owner in 2017 from twenty-year previous ownership, the new owner embarked on a restoration of the 911, from 2019 this car has benefitted from over £45, 000 worth of expenditure (all invoices in history folder) during which the car received a full media blast bodyshell strip to bare metal, then repainted with Zinc primer and then base coat into striking Albert Blue paintwork.
With an engine top end overhaul, fitment of a pair of genuine Weber 40 IDA 3C carburettors, and new 123 ignition. The gearbox was restored with a new clutch kit and flywheel, with the brakes discs and pads renewed and suspension bushes replaced,. The interior was fully refreshed with Rennsport race seats retrimmed in Houndstooth and Black Leatherette, and a full carpet set. Set-up and tuned by AutoFarm Porsche specialists, the 911 is understood to be producing around 180hp.
Fitted with a internal Roll bar, Rennsport race seats, Luke race harnesses and Cibie front spotlights this car would be well suited for either road or rally usage.
Only used for circa 2, 000 miles since the completion of the restoration. Offered with a history file that comprises an AFN Heritage letter of authenticity, previous California title, all invoices relating to the restoration, over 200 images of the restoration, previous MOT certificates, and a current V5C document.
