Description
Renault 5 Alpine Turbo Coupé – 1982 – 74 000 km
A rare opportunity for true enthusiasts:
this 1982 Renault 5 Alpine Turbo Coupé is a unique, original and untouched example. It has always been kept indoors and has only 74, 000 km on the clock. The car formed part of an ex-amateur racing driver in the Netherlands' classic car collection who turned to collecting Alpine, Matra and Pininfarina after his motorsport career.
This Turbo Coupé has never been used in competition, making it an exceptionally well-preserved historic racing car. In the 70s and 80s, Renault Competition prepared a limited run of R5 Alpine Coupé for European Cup races – only 700 units were built. Due to race damage and the fragility of the bodyshell, very few remain today.
The model is fitted with a 1. 4-litre turbo engine developing 110 bhp, weighs just 860 kg and reaches a top speed of around 200 km/ h. The technology is fully original, with typical race modifications such as a stiffer chassis, sports suspension, vented brake discs and an oil cooler, as supplied by Alpine in Dieppe.
Maintenance has always been carried out with care. A new radiator, front wishbones, a sports exhaust, an alternator and engine electronic components have been installed. The car comes with the original Fergat race wheels, but the road-going aluminium wheels and the original roll cage/ rollbar are also supplied.
This is an exceptional historic car that offers a unique opportunity for collectors and European-classic enthusiasts. Because of the emotional value it holds for its owner, the car is offered in priority to serious enthusiasts and honest bidders. Delivery is available to the Netherlands, France, Italy and Germany.
