Worth knowing about this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II
The production year of this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II is now celebrating its 64th anniversary. Its previous owners seem to have always looked after it, as even after decades it presents itself technically and visually in a consistently functional and very well-kept condition. Important to mention: this Rolls-Royce is not a “made-up US wreck” but a genuine British car. The Silver Cloud II has, for the last 18 years up to today, been continuously registered in Germany on historic plates, has been superbly maintained and regularly driven over long distances, but never during the winter months! The TÜV reports from the last 9 years are available and draw unmistakable conclusions about the technical condition and the quality of maintenance. Everything works as it should, the engine starts reliably, runs silk-smooth, and the automatic transmission shifts the gears perfectly. Bodywork, interior, wood trim, carpet and headlining are in a condition appropriate for its age, but truly very nice and well cared for. All these years this classic has been a more than reliable travel companion for its owners and is now for sale. We are happy to provide further photographs upon request.
History of this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II
In 1959 the RR Silver Cloud II was unveiled to the public for the first time. Visually it differed little from the Silver Cloud I, but it received a 6. 2-litre V8 engine, with a noticeable improvement in acceleration and torque. The substantial increase in engine power allowed a top speed of up to 183 km/ h. Power steering became standard equipment, and electric windows could be ordered at extra cost. The Rolls-Royce was equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission and hydraulic drum brakes with a mechanical brake booster. A total of 2, 417 Silver Cloud IIs were produced.
