A marvel of mid-century Porsche engineering
Finished in its factory-correct colours of Heron Grey over brown vinyl and corduroy trim
Retains its matching-numbers engine
Reportedly restored by Lady Art Car of Moissy-Cramayel, France
Accompanied by service records and Kardex copy
As documented on its Kardex build record, this 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS was completed on 23 November 1962, finished as it is today in Heron Grey (Reihergrau) over brown vinyl and corduroy trim. As with most of the range-topping Carreras, the car was well-appointed from the factory with dual fog lamps, a single headrest, polished horn ring, red Coco Mats, additional chrome trim, front shoulder safety belts, and a highly unusual, factory corded torch that was powered via the cigarette lighter. Other period-correct touches include a Blaupunkt **/ FM radio with electric antenna, wood-rimmed steering wheel, clock, heater, and electric exterior temperature gauge.
A Swiss-delivery example, the car was sold new in January 1963 via AMAG to a Basel-based enthusiast who immediately pressed it into spirited use; its Kardex recording nearly 27, 000 kilometres and frequent maintenance visits to AMAG during its first year. The Porsche is believed to have undergone restoration by Lady Art Car of Moissy-Cramayel, France, and, since its acquisition by the consignor in 2013, has remained in cherished care with inspection confirming number stampings on the engine match those recorded on the Kardex.
The car is offered with service records, Kardex copy, and correspondence with Porsche confirming its matching-numbers status.
